Journalist and author

He began his journalistic activity in 1979 for the newspaper “Lotta Continua”. He collaborates with the periodicals “Epoca” and “Panorama Mese”, as well as with the newspaper “Reporter”; in 1983 he was awarded the “Premio Salone del mare di Viareggio”. Later he approaches television: for Giovanni Minoli’s show “Mixer” he deals with the mafia. Having become a collaborator of the Mediaset Group news programs, Toni Capuozzo becomes an expert on international conflicts, dealing with the wars in the former Jugoslavia, Somalia, the Middle East and Afghanistan. From 2001 Capuozzo became the curator and presenter of “Terra!”, A weekly in-depth program of the “Tg5”, a news program of which he is also deputy director. As a freelance, Toni Capuozzo continues to collaborate with Mediaset; for “Tgcom24”, he edited a column entitled “Mezzi Toni”. In 2014 he received the “Strillaerischia Prize” in Lipari and the “Paolo Diacono Prize” in Cividale. He was a guest of the Liberevento Cultural Festival in 2019 with the book “La culla del terrore. L’odio in nome di Allah diventa Stato” (Signs Publishing Ed.) and in 2024 with his book “Cos’è la guerra? I conflitti spiegati ai ragazzi” (Ed. Signs Publishing).
