Gio Evan

Writer and singer-songwriter

Gio Evan, born Giovanni Giancaspro, is a multifaceted artist: singer-songwriter, writer, poet, philosopher, humorist and performer. Between 2007 and 2015, he undertook long bicycle journeys through India, South America and Europe, coming into contact with different cultures, masters, gurus and shamans. These experiences also inspired his first book, “Il florilegio passato”, published in 2008. Between 2012 and 2013, he founded the music project “Le scarpe del vento”, with which he independently released the album “Cranioterapia”. In the following years, he developed various artistic and poetic projects on the streets of France and began working in theatre. From 2014 onwards, he published numerous books of poetry and novels, including “La bella maniera”, “Capita a volte che ti penso sempre” and “Ormai tra noi è tutto infinito”. At the same time, he wrote and directed several theatrical performances. In 2018, he released the double album “Biglietto di solo ritorno”, which took him on tour across Italy and Europe. In 2019, he published the novel “Cento cuori dentro” and the double album “Natura Molta”. In 2020, he continued his artistic activity with new books, singles and the “Albero ma estro” tour, which recorded numerous sold-out dates. His career is characterized by a constant fusion of music, poetry, literature, theatre and performance. In 2026, he was a guest at the Liberevento Cultural Festival, where he presented his book “La gioia è un duro lavoro” (Feltrinelli).
