Franco Berrino is an epidemiologist and physician, and former director of the Department of Preventive and Predictive Medicine at the National Cancer Institute of Milan.
He promoted the development of cancer registries in Italy and coordinated European cancer registries to study patient survival (EUROCARE Project). His books include: Alimentare il benessere (Franco Angeli 2016), Il potere del cibo with Antonio Morandi and Roberto Gatto (Macrovideo 2014), Processo alla carne with Michele Emiliano (Edizioni Sonda 2016), La grande via with Luigi Fontana (Mondadori 2017), La via della leggerezza with Daniel Lumera (Mondadori 2019), Il mandala della vita (Mondadori 2021), Fermare il tempo. Con piccole dosi di cibo e benessere (Solferino 2023), and Il nostro veleno quotidiano (Solferino 2025). He was a guest at the Liberevento Cultural Festival in 2026, where he presented his book “Il nostro veleno quotidiano” (Solferino).
