Federico Buffa

Journalist and sports commentator

He represents the highest expression of storytelling in Italy. In addition to his work as a basketball commentator and sports commentator, Federico Buffa has conducted anthological broadcasts that have baptized a new way of telling the story of sport and the world. At the age of 19, fresh out of school, after a Summer Session at UCLA where he studied sociology, he wrote his first article for the prestigious basketball magazine “Superbasket”, an article that marked his debut in sports journalism. After graduating with honors in Law, the definitive leap: alongside the most famous Italian sports commentators, he began a prestigious career as a commentator of the most important games of the US basketball championship, from Tele+ to SKY Sport. Even football noticed him and he was invited as a pundit on the Milan Channel. After only 2 years he conducted his own column: ““La partita tattica”, in which he tells the Milan games to the Rossoneri. Later he was one of the regular guests of the “Calciomercato” broadcast on Sky Sport 1. Thanks to his strong ability to tell stories, people and emotions, the original series broadcast on Sky Sport were born: “Federico Buffa racconta Storie Mondiali”, “Federico Buffa racconta” and “Storie di campioni”, very popular programs in which he proves to be an excellent narrator of events and sports personalities. Following the 2014 World Cup – again for Sky Sport – he was sent to Brazil. In the same year “Storie Mondiali”, with extras and unpublished works written together with Carlo Pizzigoni, became a book published by Sperling & Kupfer. In 2015 he was in the theater with the show “Le Olimpiadi del ’36”, while in November on Sky Arte he hosted the documentary “Graffiti a NYC”. He was a guest of the Liberevento Cultural Festival in 2026 with the show “Italia Mundial” with Alessandro Nidi at the piano.
