Nico Acampora

Educator and Founder of PizzAut

Father of a child with autism spectrum disorder, he is the founder of PizzAut, the first pizzeria in Italy run by autistic staff. Initially he was born as an educator at disability services since 1993 and deals with youth policies and prevention. An expert in social planning, he has coordinated projects and collaborated with various institutions such as ASL, Metropolitan City, Lombardy Region, multiple Municipal Administrations and Schools.
In 2021 he was awarded the Ambrogino d’Oro in recognition of his commitment to the social sphere and in particular to autistic people. In 2022 he was awarded the honor of Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic. He was a guest of the Liberevento Cultural Festival in 2025 with the book “Vietato calpestare i sogni. La straordinaria storia di PizzAut e dei suoi ragazzi.” (Ed. Solferino).
