Sveva Casati Modignani is a pseudonym, behind which the spouses Bice Cairati and Nullo Cantaroni are hidden. Bice continued to use the nom de plume even after her husband’s death, resulting in a very successful literary production that has continued since 1981. All the books from that year onwards have been published by Sperling & Kupfer, except Il diavolo e la rossumata – with autobiographical memories of Bice – published by Mondadori in 2012, followed by Il bacio di Giuda (2014) and Un battito d’ali (2017), the third volume of the series. Her novels include Anna dagli occhi verdi (1981), her debut, Lezione di tango (1998), 6 aprile ’96 (2003), Qualcosa di buono (2004), Palazzo Sogliano (2013), La moglie magica (2014), Dieci e lode (2016), Festa di famiglia (2017) and Suite 405 (2018), Segreti e ipocrisie (2019) and Il falco (2020).
