Musician and author

He began studying music at the age of 8 with maestro Raffaele Podda at the CDMI in Cagliari, then he studied piano under the guidance of masters such as Roberto Santucci, graduating in 2001 at the Conservatory of Cagliari. In 2007 he won the prestigious New York University Scholarship, thanks to which he attended the master’s degree in Writing and Composition for Musical Theater at New York University – Tisch School of the Arts, New York, graduating in 2009. From 2007 he holds a professorship at the Comprehensive Institute of Dolianova (Cagliari) as a specialist teacher of Theater and Music in primary school. Since 2012 he has been teaching at the IED (European Institute of Design) as a teacher of Semiotics of Art, with particular reference to musicals and musical theater. Matteo Martis has to his credit the composition and executive production of three original musicals, and is still working on the realization of two musicals for the city of New York. He was a guest of the Liberevento Cultural Festival in 2020 with the book “Anime erranti” (Grafica del Parteolla Ed.).
