Grazia Di Michele

Singer-songwriter and author

In the seventies she founded, together with Clelia Lamorgese and Chiara Scotti, the musical group of political inspiration “Ape Di Vetro”: in that period, she proposes committed songs, on topical issues such as abortion, and performs throughout Italy. In 1978 she recorded her first album, entitled “Cliché” which is characterized by socially engaged themes, often in line with feminism. In 1986 she records “Le ragazze di Gauguin”, which contains the single of the same name and which allows her to obtain the “Vela d’Argento” award; the following year’s reissue includes the song “Sha-la-la”, which is also offered at the “Festivalbar”. In 2003 she joined the cast of “Amici”, a talent show hosted by Maria De Filippi broadcast on Canale 5 where she was enrolled as a singing teacher. In 2014 Grazia Di Michele received the Giuni Russo Award in Alghero, Sardinia. She was a guest of the Liberevento Cultural Festival in 2020 with the book “Apollonia” (Castelvecchi Ed.).
