Poet and author

Born in Imperia in 1945, he has published collections of poetry, essays and novels, focusing on the themes of nature, eros and myth. Among his novels: Primavera incendiata, Fedeli d’amore, L’impero e l’incanto, ecc. Among his essays: Terre del mito, Lettera ai disperati sulla primavera. He also wrote opera librettos, theatrical texts, including: Ungaretti fa l’amore, Nausicaa, Le roy Arthur et le sans logis. He translated Blake, Shelley, Whitman and D.H. Lawrence. He is the author of two anthologies: La lirica d’Occidente e La poesia del mondo. He was a series director and editorial consultant. He has collaborated as an author on RAI programs. He writes as a columnist for the “Secolo XIX” and as a literary critic for the “Giornale”. In 2015 he received the Janus Pannonius Prize in Hungary together with Charles Bernstein. In 2010 he won the Montale Fuori di Casa Prize for the Poetry Section and in 2015 the LericiPea Special Prize. He was a guest of the Liberevento Cultural Festival in 2020 with the book “I senza cuore” (Giunti Ed.).
