Defined by Luis Sepúlveda as one of the most original voices in Spanish fiction, she is considered one of the best and most innovative Spanish-language writers of recent decades. She received numerous awards, including the Azorìn Prize, the Primavera Prize, the Ateneo de Sevilla Prize, the Llanes Prize and the Scholarship of the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome named after Valle-Inclàn. Eugenia was also the first Spanish novelist to be accepted into the writers’ residence of the University of Iowa and her short story “Waste”, published in California, was a finalist for the prestigious Pushcart Prize in the United States. She also won the Bauer Giovani Prize at the International Literature Festival Crossing of Civilization in Venice, a cultural event that involves 25 authors from all over the world. In Italy, Elliot published her book “Gli amanti” in 2017. She was a guest of the Liberevento Cultural Festival in 2020 with the book “La morte bianca” (Elliot Ed.).
