Bepi Vigna

Cartoonist, journalist and author

Passionate about cinema and comics, in 1982 he founded the Bande Dessinée group in Cagliari, which also included Antonio Serra and Michele Medda. The three started writing scripts together for Sergio Bonelli Editore and, in 1989, they proposed a new series: Nathan Never, published monthly starting from June 1991. In 1993 Vigna founded a School of Comics in Cagliari, the first in Sardinia, which operates within the “Centro Internazionale del Fumetto”, which he directs. In addition to comic stories, he has published numerous essays on comics, cinema and popular traditions, short stories and novels. He collaborates as a critic for numerous Sardinian magazines and television stations and in advertising. He was a pioneer of comic book publishing on the web, he achieved by co-founding the online comic book publishing house Hybris Comics. In the field of cinema, he has directed several short films and documentaries, some of which have been awarded at various festivals. He was a guest of the Liberevento Cultural Festival in 2012 and 2013.
