Journalist and author

He is a columnist and deputy editor of Corriere della Sera, where he arrived in 1995. He studied at the University of Pavia and worked as a foreign correspondent in London, Moscow, Washington DC; he dealt with Eastern Europe, China, the Middle East. He worked for Indro Montanelli’s Journal and for La Voce. In 2004, in Bruxelles, he was voted “European Journalist of the Year”. He is the author of 18 books. Including “Un italiano in America”, “La testa degli italiani” and, the most recent “Neoitaliani”. In 2015-2016 he conceived, wrote and hosted “L ’erba dei vicini” (Rai 3). For Rai he had already conducted Italians, that is Italians (1997) and “Luoghi comuni, un viaggio in Italia” (2001 and 2002). He worked for Sky Italia (2004-2010) and for La7 (2011-2019). In 2016-2017 he created Rock & Talk on Virgin Radio. Between 2007 and 2013 he collaborated with Radio Montecarlo (RMC), and previously with Rai Radio 2 and BBC radio. He has been teaching since 2010 at the Walter Tobagi School of Journalism of the State University of Milan. He was a guest of the Liberevento Cultural Festival in 2019 with the book “Italiani si rimane” (Ed. Solferino).
