Now there are no longer any doubts: the mysterious guest who will inaugurate the 11th edition 2022 of the Liberevento Cultural Festival will be Francesco Abate!

An unmissable appointment in the magnificent location of Bingia Pernis in Cagliari which will feature the writer and journalist of the Unione Sarda for the premiere of his latest book “Il complotto dei calafati” (Einaudi 2022).

The appointment is for Thursday, April 21st, 8.30 pm (entry from 7.30 pm).

PLOT

A sumptuous charity gala brought together all the good Cagliari society in order to raise funds for the Calabrie earthquake victims. Clara, the granddaughter of the most important shipowner on the island, also takes part to meet an official of the Italian embassy returning from China who could give her news of her father, who was missing during the Boxer revolt. Among the guests, the talked-about Cabras, who returning from the party are attacked and killed. Political murder is suspected: the baron was hated for always treating his many workers with an iron fist. So why was the driver killed too? Always ready to take care of the weakest, and in pain also for the fate of the young nephew of the barons, towards whom she feels immediate empathy (or perhaps something more), Clara cannot avoid investigating the case. In the exotic atmosphere of Cagliari in 1905, between the Punic necropolis and the port, between the Chinese Navy community and the local underworld, she will discover a disconcerting truth.
